TWA only had 5 of these for passengers service, one of them was this NC1940. The Boeing 307 Stratoliner was the first airliner with a pressurized cabin, allowing it to cruise at an altitutde of 20,000 feet, well above possible unfavourable weather conditions. The first flight was on December 31st, 1938.
